Sarah has been in the travel business for eight years. She specializes in leisure travel, but also does her share of corporate travel. Three years ago, Sarah negotiated an opportunity with a magazine publication called Save on Everything. She has been marketing with Save on Travel and promoting specials from four different markets. Cruises from the Houston market have been extremely lucrative in providing a whole new client base. Two years ago, Sarah landed a contract with the second largest convention-planning company in the United States. The travelers have the option to speak to Sarah directly or use the booking engine that we have provided. This company has experienced cost savings by outsourcing to Sarah their technology needs and fulfillment. The bonus is great customer service and valuable reports. “The best part about being a travel agent is when a family comes home from a vacation and tells me that they had an absolutely wonderful time. There is nothing more rewarding than that.”

Salentine Travel’s Sarah Strand has been orchestrating dream vacations for eight years. Her areas of expertise include Mexico, where she’s personally visited Cancun, Riviera Maya, Cozumel, and Puerto Vallarta, and the Caribbean, where she’s explored Jamaica, Grand Bahama Island, Aruba and Punta Cana, as well as the Eastern Caribbean, stopping in Nassau, Bahamas, San Juan, Puerto Rico, and St. Thomas, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Las Vegas is another destination that ranks high on her list as, “It’s such a fun place to go and the hotels are just amazing!”

Sarah has also completed an extensive training program, specializing in the cruise line Holland America.

Q: A destination that really surprised me was…

A: Aruba. I went on two tours, a snorkeling tour and a jeep tour. The jeep tour was awesome! There were four people to a Jeep Wrangler and one of use actually drove it. We all followed our tour guide to different sights of the island. The hotels were great; I was a big fan of the Hyatt Regency. All in all, it was a great location with great food, nightlife and shopping.

Q: The itinerary of my own dream vacation includes…

A: Definitely going to the Atlantis in the Bahamas. I am a big fan of the warm beach places. I want to go to Atlantis for a week and stay in the Royal Tower. A lot of people are also into the Cove as it’s the new all-suite tower. There isn’t much of an itinerary to this dream vacation! Just relaxing and enjoying all the fun water slides and pools Atlantis has to offer. I’ve spent the day at Atlantis and it just was not long enough!

Q: My top hotel experiences are…

A: Wynn Las Vegas. The hotel is just beautiful! The pool area has a double-deck with lots of lounge chairs, as well as a number of pool-side cabanas. The dining there is great! The Bartolotta’s restaurant is delicious!

Iberostar Grand Hotel Paraiso. This adults-only resort in the Riviera Maya was just amazing. The food was great and the pool areas were beautiful!

Q: A great family destination right now is…

A: Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. There are so many all-inclusive resorts that can meet the budget for almost any family. The resorts have tons of activities going on all day for all ages!
